Daytona Beach, FL – On Friday night, the NASCAR Xfinity Series made its second trip to the Daytona International Speedway, for the running of the Wawa 250. Persistent rains canceled qualifying and pushed backed the race until 10:30 pm. The team was looking forward to racing at Daytona because of their several great finishes they have had over the years.

Ryan Vargas, driver of the No. 6 National Metering Services Chevrolet, secured his career best finish with a P6. While working his way around the rough racing, Vargas was able to hold steady for a spectacular performance at the legendary track. He gained the second most positions in the race. “This is a huge success for us and we’re going to carry this momentum to Darlington.” Vargas said, who is currently 23rd in driver points.

Bayley Currey, driver of the No.4 Alka-Seltzer Chevrolet, had some bad luck finishing 30th after being caught up in one of the “big ones” during overtime. “It’s tough for the team, everyone worked hard on this car, but it is Daytona; you never know the outcome. We will just go back to the shop and focus on Darlington” said Currey, who is currently 21st in driver points.

The team heads just two and a half hours away to Darlington, South Carolina this weekend to take on the Lady in Black at Darlington Raceway.
