Dawson Cram - Moorseville, North Carolina

In 2007, at the age of six years old, Dawson started his racing journey in a Mini Dwarf at Barona Speedway in Southern California. In 2010, at the age of eight, his family relocated back to Mooresville, NC and Dawson made the move into the INEX Bandolero division at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC. During his rookie year in the INEX Bandolero’s, Dawson scored 13 feature wins and earned his first of four Bandolero Championships. In the fall of 2013 after his twelfth birthday, Dawson moved up into the INEX Legend Cars, competing both on asphalt and dirt. He also became a factory driver for SKE in the dirt Winged Karts at Millbridge Speedway. In 2014, Dawson earned the Championship title in the Legends Young Lions division on both dirt and asphalt and claimed the Championship in the Intermediate Winged Karts. In 2015, at the age of 14, Dawson began racing at the famed Hickory Motor Speedway in the Super Truck Series. In 2016, he competed in the NASCAR Whelen Limited Late Models and was named the 2016 Hickory Motor Speedway Limited Late Model Rookie of the Year. At 16 years old, Dawson made the jump to Super Late Models and the ARCA Menards Series, where he gained experience at higher speeds and bigger tracks. In 2018, just after his 17th birthday Dawson made his first start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Martinsville Speedway. On his 3rd NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Martinsville, Dawson scored his best finish in the series finishing 13th.

The 2020 season was Dawson’s first attempt at 13 tracks on the national series schedule. His best finish was a 14th-place effort at Michigan where he led three laps. With the COVID-19 restrictions in place, Dawson was faced with the challenge of no practice time allowed at any of these races, with his first laps on track coming at the drop of the green flag.

In 2020, at just 18 years old, Dawson became the youngest NASCAR team co-owner in history, with his father, Kevin Cram, they made the leap to Team Ownership by establishing Cram Racing Enterprises.

Dawson is passionately driven to succeed not only behind the wheel but he is also dedicated to his work off the track as a representative of the sport, as a brand ambassador for his partners and as a young athlete who is committed to utilizing his platform for purpose, causes and missions that he believes in and for encouraging his audience to reach for greater heights.
